So many students have missed out on in-person graduations. Students either received their diplomas in virtual ceremonies, drive thru or even lack luster events with just the students in a quiet auditorium. These kids missed the coming of age ceremony where grads get to rock their school colors, walk the stage in their caps and gowns and let's not forgot getting to feel the love from their screaming and rejoicing family and friends in the stands! San Francisco city officials along with Mayor London Breed announced that they will work with the SF Unified School District to coordinate in-person and outdoor graduations for High School students. The plan is to hold these graduations in the beginning of June, with larger high schools holding their ceremonies at the historic Kezar Stadium and smaller schools will hold their commencements at McAteer High School. The graduations will of course follow all Covid safey protocol including socially distanced seating for students and the audience will be seated in family pods of 4,while the ceremonies will be staggered to allow for deep cleaning and sanitization of the spaces. I can hear the excitement of the close to 4000 high school grads from here!! Congrats class of 2021- can't wait to see what amazing things you all do!!
