Oakland's Own Zendaya is the Youngest Lead Actress to Win Emmy Award

Congrats are in order for Bay Area's own Zendaya, star actress of the hit teen drama tv series Euphoria. She took home the award for lead actress for a drama series, something a person of color hasn't done since Viola Davis won back in 2015. During her acceptance speech, the 24 year old star said, she was inspired by others her age who were working to make a difference in the world. “I just want to say that there is hope in the young people out there,” she said. “And I just want to say to all our peers out there doing the work in the streets: I see you, I admire you, I thank you.”

Congrats superstar, the Town is Proud of you!
