Bay Area Family Stranded In Peru After They Close The Borders


Peru closed its borders on March 15 and now over 100 Americans can't come home. Peru has declared a state of emergency and mandated a fifteen day quarantine for the whole country. The number of cases in Peru is now at about 360 people infected with coronavirus.

Tourists from all over only 24 hours to evacuate. A Bay Area family tried to leave from Cusco airport but the military stopped people from entering the airport. Many American tourists have formed a facebook group asking the American government for help.

President Trump responded during his press conference saying,

We're working very hard on getting a young group of people out of Peru. We've removed some and the rest are being removed with the cooperation of the Peruvian Government.
