The Bay Area Has Three Of The Top Five Richest Towns In America

Bloomberg released their annual report on the richest places in America and from the top five, three of those towns are located in the greater Bay Area.

Coming in at number one for the fourth year in a row, Atherton, California has an average household income of over $525,000. That's probably thanks to all of the tech billionaires and basketball all-stars, like Steph Curry, that have moved into mansions there.

In third and fifth place are Hillsborough and Lost Altos Hills, respectively. These towns are in between San Francisco and San Jose, two hubs for new and established tech companies. They both have an average household income of around $400,000.

Piedmont and Orinda also made it onto the list coming in at number 28 and 29.
