Boy Scouts Honor First Class Of Female Eagle Scouts

Inaugural Class Off Female Eagle Scouts Recognized By Boy Scouts Of America

Last week marked a milestone for the Boy Scouts of America - its first ever class of female Eagle Scouts.

Over 1,000 young women were awarded the organization's highest rank of Eagle Scout last week, two years after the Boy Scouts began allowing girls to join.

Becoming an Eagle Scout isn't easy - only 6% of Scouts ever get there. Requirements include 21 merit badges and a large service project.

One of those honorees, Lauren Nedrow, summed it up, telling CBS News: "Everyone that's in Scouts has a little bit of 'I want to change the world' in them".
