Contra Costa County To Use $2M From Their CARES ACT To Hire More Sheriff's

Contra Costa County has found a way to use their COVID-19 relief funds. They will be using $2million to hire 24 new sheriffs deputies to work at the Contra Costa County jail in Martinez. According to Supervisor Karen Mitchoff, the sheriff's are needed to help handle inmates with mental health issues. The county will also be hiring health services staff members to help inmates get to their doctor appointments.
