On Monday, July 27, Sunnyvale Community Services had lines of cars waiting to receive backpacks with school supplies. Some schools are getting ready to open for fall in the Bay Area and families who have lost their jobs are struggling to get supplies for their kids.
The backpack includes a box of school supplies, worth about $100, and a $45 Target gift card. They handed out about 2,000 backpacks.
