A McDonald's in Oakland is being linked to seventeen cases of coronavirus. The people who have tested positive are eleven workers and six family members. Workers said they were not told when their coworkers tested positive and were discouraged from taking sick leave while experiencing symptoms.
The owners of the McDonald's at 4514 Telegraph Ave might face contempt charges after their employees went on strike protesting the work conditions. The restaurant must meet 11 conditions including,
provide adequate physical protection against the virus for employees, implementing new protocols for cleaning and related training, tracing the contacts of everyone suspected of having been infected with the novel coronavirus while present at the restaurant, and more.
