The Student and Exchange Visitor Program(SEVP) announced new modifications to the exemptions for students taking online classes for Fall 2020. Due to COVID-19 majority of the schools will not allow on campus classes.
According to ICE,
The U.S. Department of State will not issue visas to students enrolled in schools and/or programs that are fully online for the fall semester nor will U.S. Customs and Border Protection permit these students to enter the United States.
Nonimmigrant F-1 and M-1 students who are currently in the United States and are enrolled in classes online must leave the country or transferring to a school that allows on campus courses to keep their status. Failure to do so may result in removal proceedings.
