Oakland City council member, Loren Taylor, shared a video on Facebook highlighting the organization Oakland REACH and several Black owned businesses helping bridge the digital divide. East Oakland families who are participating in Oakland REACH summer program were handed laptops. 200 laptops were given away as well as other essential products like water.
200 LAPTOPS GIVEN TO EAST OAKLAND FAMILIES YESTERDAY: We have amazing people and organization in #OakD6 who show up and show out for each other. Yesterday I was able to support The Oakland REACH (A parent led nonprofit organization) and several Black Owned Businesses as they helped to bridge then digital divide and prepare our kids for greater academic success. I can’t thank them enough for the amazing work they are doing for our community.
