Philanthropists are being encouraged to donate laptops for public school students. Many students have not been able to check in with their classes because they do not own a computer or laptop. A parent survey in California showed that 50% of low income families do not own a laptop, chromebook, or tablet needed for school work. A lot of these families relied on libraries which are now closed to the public. Some families also need of help to get WiFi.
With families losing their jobs, many people are not able to provide services. Governor Gavin Newsom issued a call to action to help these students and their families. You can look for more information and ways to help here.
