A woman from Arizona came to San Francisco to give birth at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Mission Bay. Her baby needed open heart surgery right after birth, which is the reason she came to San Francisco. Unfortunately, this all happened right before the shelter in place.
The parents are not able to be with the baby at all times because of COVID-19 and have to stay at a temporary home. Ronald McDonald House partnered with Apartment List and Veritas to help provide a temporary home free of charge. They will continue to help families of children hospitalized with life-threatening illnesses.
