Two UC Berkeley graduate students are helping create hand sanitizer at the school lab. Abrar Abidi and Yvonne Hao got to work and mixed about 310 gallons of hand sanitizer for people in need. They have made, packaged, and delivered more than 900 bottles of hand sanitizer to the San Francisco County Jail after hearing staff members tested positive.
They use a formula from the World Health Organization and have gotten help from professors getting chemicals. They are now producing about 120 gallons per week. Dozens of volunteers pick up the bottles and hand them out to hospices, homeless shelters, or any where else in need.
