SFO To Shut Down Terminal After Multiple Airlines Cancel Or Suspend Flights

As if flying or trying to navigate through an airport wasn't stressful enough, now you may not even be able to fly to a lot of destinations domestically or internationally. Major airline companies Hawaiian & Alaskan Airlines announced last week that they'd be suspending domestic flights, while others including Southwest, Delta and United have all downsized their flight schedules too. One United Airlines rep even said:

"We are currently planning to make even deeper cuts in May and June. And, based on how doctors expect the virus to spread and how economists expect the global economy to react, we expect demand to remain suppressed for months after that, possibly into next year."

This whole effort to try and help flatten the curve of the coronavirus spreading has led to airports now feeling the fallout. The TSA stated that they scanned 90 percent less people through on a day last week than that same day last year. San Francisco International Airport is one of those who have been affected by all the cancellations. SFO announced that they will be completely closing down the International Terminal's A boarding area and re-routing people to the G terminal instead from April 1st through at least the end of May. Less flights mean less personnel needed and/or available...and that all leads to not needing terminal A to be open.

Not that you should be trying to fly at all right now, but IF you have to for some reason, you'll have to find a different path to your flight. Who knows what's going to happen next if this virus doesn't clear up, so make sure to protect yourselves and BE SAFE if you have to fly....otherwise STAY HOME!!
