Miesha Singleton, a mother of seven kids, was struck and killed by a car at the crosswalk outside Elmhusrt Middle School in Oakland. She had just picked up the kids and left for a minute to use the bathroom inside the school.
Known for her work with anti-violence group "Stop Killing Our Kids", the mother leaves behind children who range from age 3 to 22. Oakland Police have yet to catch the driver and hope someone comes forward. Police are looking for a white Nissan Sedan and a $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person.
There have been many hit and run cases in Oakland. We should slow down and stay aware of pedestrians around the area.
