A weekend assault on an AC Transit bus driver in Oakland was captured on video.
The driver, who was dressed in a white shirt and a black jacket, was seen talking with a coworker on bus security footage. The driver is then struck over the head with a hammer a few seconds later by a lady who ran across the street.
The driver is seen pushing the woman to the ground and repeatedly hitting her in an attempt to defend himself.
Using the bus's emergency call system, a bus operator called in to report the situation and is overheard stating, "We need the sheriff at the Coliseum, please. A passenger just hit a driver. He’s restraining her ."
After some minutes, the driver rises. At that point, according to investigators, the suspect pointed a semi-automatic weapon at the driver.
Kelly stated, "She then pulled out a .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol... She racked the pistol and pulled the trigger as she told the bus driver she was going to kill him."
But the pistol did not go off. It was either human mistake or a weapon malfunction, according to the deputies.
Deputies arrested Sharee Hall, age 45. A number of felony firearm assault charges were brought against her.
