A Northern California high school has suspended the rest of its football season after a video surfaced of players carrying out an apparent “slave auction” with black teammates.
According to the Sacramento Bee, the "disgraceful" video depicting the racist act being committed by players on the River Valley High School varsity football team was given to the Yuba City Unified Schools Superintendent.
The video shows about a dozen students pointing & yelling dollar amounts at 3 Black students standing in their underwear & up against a wall.
Last week's game was forfeited by the team as a result of the disgusting prank. The incident-related students were expelled from the team, leaving it without enough players to compete, which forced the remainder of the season to be canceled. Students who remained and did not participate disgusting act may play for the Junior Varsity team. Players who did participate may face further discipline from the school.
River Valley has a 0-5 record this season. The forfeit would place the Falcons at 0-6 for the season.
