At a gig on his UK tour, Chris Rock finally broke his silence on the Will Smith slap, telling the crowd that Smith "did an impression of a perfect man for 30 years" but is "just as ugly as the rest of us."
The opening night of Rock and Dave Chappelle's multi-date tour took place at Liverpool's M&S Arena. 'Did that s**t hurt?' Chappelle probed Rock about the notorious smack.
Rock responded by finally letting everyone know how he really feels. Dailymail reports Rock said:
'Goddam right… the motherf***er hit me over a bulls**t joke, the nicest joke I ever told.
'Will did the impression of a perfect person for 30 years, and he ripped his mask off and showed us he was as ugly as the rest of us.
'Whatever the consequences are… I hope he doesn’t put his mask back on again, and lets his real face breathe. I see myself in both men,' he said.
Smith delivered a quick apology at the time, and he later apologized to his old friend on Instagram in a groveling, hand-wringing manner earlier this month. He admitted that Rock hasn't accepted the apologies.
