A Bay Area model is furious after trolls blamed her clothing after she was allegedly sexually assaulted by a stranger inside a grocery store. Users online wrote she "asked for it" due to wearing a crop top and tights.
"I can't stress this enough to please be aware of your surroundings," said influencer Daisy Delacroix of Redwood City, California, as she published CCTV footage of the alleged assault on her TikTok page last week.
The model is seen in the video standing in front of a red cart and shopping next to the store's refrigerated section while sporting a crop top and cycling shorts.
The next thing you see in the video is a man approaching Daisy and grabbing her from behind while leaning over to appear to whisper something in her ear, which causes the model to respond startled and turn around to see who touched her.
The model suddenly froze in panic and hurried down the aisle away from the odd man.
Daisy said in the description of the video that the man "touched her butt" and muttered "what's up baby?" in her ear, adding that the horrifying experience left her in a state of "total shock." Daisy claimed that she received the CCTV footage from the store's management.
'Today after work I was grocery shopping and as you can see in this video, this man walks up from behind, touches my butt, and whispers in my ear, "What's up baby?"' she wrote on the Tiktok video.
The influencer claimed that she wanted to post the video to remind other ladies of the need to exercise caution even when in grocery store.
Since then, the video has received 2.5 million views and more than 7,500 comments, the most of which are favorable.
Trolls, however, have also surfaced and accused the influencer of asking for unwanted attention.
'Why are you wearing that at the store?' one user wrote while another wrote 'I'm not surprised at all.'.
The models clothing being topic of discussion prompted her to post a follow up video blasting anyone who blames their clothing for being sexually assaulted.
