This just feels lazy to me. Foster City is pushing forward with a plan to put 100 Canadian geese to death after officials determined that all other options had failed and the birds were a nuisance.
Since the amount of E. coli in the city's waterways has increased due to the poop-covered sidewalks and waterfronts, the city declared it to be a public health hazard.
The city claimed that despite humanitarian methods of eradication failing, the number of geese had increased over the previous two years.
The city council decided on Monday to proceed with the plan to obtain permits so that, if necessary, they could kill up to a third of the population of geese, or a total of 100 birds.
