Sad news for Bay Area residents. California's Great America is set to close for good once their lease expires due to the land being sold.
Cedar Fair announced on Monday that they have sold the land which California's Great America operates on.
Prologis, a company based in San Francisco, purchased the land from the company for roughly $310 million.
They said that they have a contract with the purchaser that allows them to keep operating the park for "up to 11 years" before closing it permanently at the conclusion of their current lease.
They added in a statement that, for the time being at least, the park should continue to feel and look the same to visitors.
California's Great America has operated in Santa Clara since 1976.
