Comedian Dave Chappelle is known for his golden heart and his latest act is a testament to that. Following the mass shooting in Buffalo last month, comedian Dave Chappelle is giving back to the families of the victims.
On Sunday, June 5, Chappelle performed at Shea's Performing Arts Center in Buffalo, New York.
Chappelle declared at the end of his Buffalo show, according to Shea's, that he will donate ticket sales from the night to the families of the victims killed in the Tops shooting on May 14.
During the mass shooting, ten Black victims were killed and three others were injured. Ten counts of first-degree murder, ten counts of second-degree murder as a hate crime, three counts of attempted murder as a hate crime, one act of domestic terrorism motivated by hatred, and a weapons charge are among the charges leveled against the defendant in the case.
Chappelle is a stand-up comedian who has won numerous awards. The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts awarded Chappelle the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2019. In addition, he has received over 30 nominations and awards in both television and film.
