Pride celebration in San Francisco has turned sour for San Francisco's Police Department & Firefighters who planned to march in the parade wearing their uniforms. Organizers announced they will not allow officers or firefighters to walk in full uniforms, yet officers & fireman would be allowed to wear any other branded civilian clothing. Organizers in 2020 banned uniformed officers and fireman from wearing their uniforms, as they stated members of the LGBTQ+ community that may feel intimidated by their presence.
Now, SFPD, SFFD and Mayor London Breed have vowed to boycott Pride Parade because of the ban.
