Heartbreaking news. The family of Legendary Comedian and 'Aladdin' Actor Gilbert Gottfried has passed away at the early age of 67. His family released a statement regarding the heartbreaking passing writing:

"We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Gilbert Gottfried after a long illness. In addition to being the most iconic voice in comedy, Gilbert was a wonderful husband, brother, friend, and father to his two young children. Although today is a sad day for all of us, please keep laughing as loud as possible in Gilbert’s honor."

Reports say Gottfried died at 2:35 p.m. ET Tuesday from recurrent ventricular tachycardia due to myotonic dystrophy type II.

Gottfried, who has been performing stand-up comedy for almost 50 years, was dubbed "the comedian's comedian" because "his live performances leave aside political correctness while delivering gags that know no bounds," according to his agent.

His humorous career landed him roles in films such as "Beverly Hills Cop II," "Problem Child," "Look Who's Talking II," "The Aristocrats," and more. In Disney's renowned animated feature "Aladdin," he voiced the wisecracking parrot Iago.

In 2017, he was the subject of the documentary "Gilbert," which chronicled his life. He also co-hosted "Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal Podcast!" with Frank Santopadre, in which they interviewed Hollywood celebrities and idols.

Celebrities and comedians took to social media to share their happy memories and condolences. Sending our thoughts and prayers to Gottfried friends and family.
