71-year-old man fatally shot in head while driving in Oakland

Another senseless killing. A 71-year-old man was fatally shot in the head while driving in Oakland's Fruitvale district. The victim was driving when he was caught in the middle of gun fire. He drove another half mile before crashing his pickup truck into vehicles. Police responded to a call for a vehicle accident and discovered the elderly man had been shot through the windshield. The man unfortunately died at the scene.
