Former UFC champ Cain Velasquez was arrested after he followed and tried to shoot a man suspected of molesting his 4-year-old relative in San Jose, Ca.
The former UFC champion reportedly shot into a car, aiming for a man Harry Goularte Jr, who was accused of molesting a 4-year-old close relative of Velasquez, but hit someone else in the vehicle. Goularte was riding with his mother and step father. Allegedly, Velasquez followed Goularte for 11 miles before the shooting happened. Prosecutors pushed to have Goularte held without bond yet the judge denied the request. At the time of the shooting, Goularte was on his way to get an ankle monitor after being released from jail awaiting trial.
Velasquez was legally armed. He is currently being held without bail.
Fighters have rallied to support Velasquez following his arrest, many saying he would do anything to protect his family.
