21 restaurants in Oakland have joined Dining for Justice, a program designed to provide meals for the homeless.
Participating restaurants add a 1% surcharge on each bill, which then goes to providing community meals.
Community Kitchens explains:
"What brings us together is our understanding that our values surrounding food define who we are as a community, and our belief that we can do better."
