Mike Tyson is advocating for psychedelics after he says he 'died' during his first trip on Toad Venom. He admitted his first trip gave him a glimpse into the afterlife.
“I ‘died’ during my first trip,” the former heavyweight boxer said when he spoke with the New York Post in Miami at Wonderland, a conference dedicated to psychedelics, microdosing, and medicine.
“In my trips, I’ve seen that death is beautiful,” he said. “Life and death both have to be beautiful, but death has a bad rep. The toad has taught me that I’m not going to be here forever. There’s an expiration date.”
Tyson says he first tried the toad venom four years after he was dared to. The venom he’s referring to is Bufo alvarius, a Mexico amphibian otherwise known as the Sonoran Desert Toad. Tyson stated his first time was at a low point in his life.
Now, Tyson has tripped off toad 53 times. He attributes the experience to helping him get back to a better place in life. Tyson dropped 100 pounds, got back into boxing, and reconnected with his family. Check out a throwback interview of Tyson talking about Toad below.
