When you can't beat them with your words or intelligence, call on celebrity boxing! Apparently that's Kendrick Perkins view as he was asked who he would want to fight against in a celebrity boxing match while appearing on the 'Road Trippin' Podcast. After Richard Jefferson told a short story about how he and Kenyon Martin got into a physical altercation, Perkins responded to the hypothetical question stating:
"If I had one guy, and he’s not even my former teammate, but he feel like that I talk sh*t, and I feel like he talk sh*t is Draymond Green,” Perkins said. “Like if I had to get in the ring and really put these paws on somebody, it would be Draymond Green. But I really think he don’t want that smoke, and history tells me he really don’t want that smoke.”
What history is Perkins talking about?This makes me believe it's personal for Perkins. Maybe Perkins is still mad he rode the bench all 2017 due to injury and watched the Golden State Warriors blow right past the Cavs in the finals, which is when Perkins allegedly attempted to trip and injure Stephen Curry after he shot a three? Or maybe he's still butt hurt about Draymond calling him out directly for his hot-takes on the NBA's Olympic Team after doubting their success?
Perkins seemed to actually be excited about the idea and later stated he would get in the ring for “500,000” dollars...“it’d be a beautiful thing to see.” Draymond is busy getting ready for the season and caring for his family after just winning an Olympic Gold Medal. Please have several seats Perk!
