No woman should be put through something like this! A widow was surprised to find she was being sued for a portion of her husband's life insurance payout after the husband died suddenly in a fiery car crash.
The 39-year-old's body had to be ID by the mistress in Turin, Italy. The police attempted to contact the wife, with whom he also had a young son with, yet his wife was out of town. When she returned, this was the first time she found out about her deceased husband's mistress.
The mistress then sued his wife for what she perceived to be her portion of the life insurance payout La Stampa reports. The mistress claimed that she and the deceased 39-year-old had plans to live their lives together, and he spent 3 nights a week with her, 4 with his actual wife. The mistress maintained that because of their relationship she was "family" and entitled to the payout.
Somehow her lawyers were able to argue her case and actually got the wife to settle out of court for what is reported to be a substantial amount.
