Fans are still morning the loss of irreplaceable 'Jeopardy' host, Alex Trebec, whom hosted the show for 36 years. With his passing, and Jeopardy producer announcing they will aire the remaining last episodes Trebec filmed before he passed.
Now, fans of the show are hoping the 'Jeopardy' gods will bless their homes with another child hood icon LeVar Burton. A petition on Change.org is gaining traction asking for the new host of the show to be LeVar Burton. The petitioner wrote:
Between hosting 21 seasons of the educational Reading Rainbow, playing the brainiac engineer Geordi La Forge on Star Trek: the Next Generation, and filling the roll of Kunta Kinte in the ever important mini-series Roots, LeVar Burton has inspired and shaped the minds of several generations of trivia-loving nerds. This petition is to show Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. and producers Mike Richards and Harry Friedman just how much love the public has for Burton, and how much we'd all love to see him as the next host of Jeopardy!
Burton has since caught wind of the petition which has gotten nearly 75,000 signatures, and responded with the following.
