Good news for people in San Francisco who were disgusted by the viral video of an old asian man being racially harassed, almost assaulted, and robbed of his recycling last week. San Francisco Police Chief Scott announced they have made an arrest as a result of the video.
Many Bay Area residents were outraged last week after video went viral showing an old man being robbed for his recycling as onlookers laughed and berated him with racist insults. More video emerged online showing security guards there at the time of the incident yet allegedly doing nothing to intervene or stop the attempted assault.
We now know the old man is known in the neighborhood and neighbors are kind enough to save cans for the man to recycle. The recycling is allegedly the retired mans income. He recycles because he is low income, and refuses to ask for assistance from the government.
Glad this man found justice. Hoping his neighbors in Bay View rally around him and ensure this doesn't happen again.
