The city of Las Vegas is trying something new. The Las Vegas City Council approved a new plan that would allow residents to pay for their parking tickets by donating school supplies! By supplies, they mean paper, pencils and backpacks! It's only for a limited time.
According to a press release, the program runs through mid-July and accepts a long list of school supplies equaling or greater than the value of the fine.
New and unwrapped supplies, such as copy paper, dry erase markers and sticky notes must be received within 30 days of the infraction date, along with a receipt. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Through the program, all supplies will be donated to Teachers' Exchange, a nonprofit associated with the Public Education Foundation.
