It looks like fans were not feeling Jennifer Lopez's tribute to Motown Records at the Grammys. J-lo took to the stage to perform classics like “Square Biz,” “Please Mr. Postman,” “Dancing in the Street,” and “My Girl,” along side Motown legend Smokey Robinson. If you missed it, check it out below

During her performance, fans quickly took to Twitter to post their displeasure. Some believing the Grammy's should never have allowed her to "lipsync" a tribute performance and others; believing there were more "qualified and better singers" in the audience who could have pulled off a better tribute. Smokey Robinson chimed in on the controversy prior to her performance stating:

From the Motown icon's perspective, the hate is unwarranted. “I don’t think anyone who is intelligent is upset,” he told Variety . “I think anyone who is upset is stupid.” He goes on to cite Jennifer's upbringing in "her Hispanic neighborhood” as a testament to her credibility. Being Jenny from the Bronx block isn't his point, however. He deems Motown as artistry that is made for all to enjoy.
