Jeffrey Lamar Williams, aka Young Thug, was released from DeKalb County Jail in Georgia on Wednesday , one week after he was arrested for failing a drug test while out on bond.
Before his release, Thug apologized to the court. "I’m sorry for disobeying the court. I’m sorry for disobeying my PO and being here again...I just want to be home with my family and do right."
"These last six days [in jail] I came back down to reality. I understood this is real life," he continued. "I got sons that's 10, 11 years old. They look up to me. I don’t want them to think that going to jail—even if you're able t get right out of jail—is cool. I just want to grow, cause I've honestly grown. I’ve just made mistakes and I’ve been penalized for them. I’m sorry, and won’t disobey again."
The terms of Thug's release state that he must submit to a random drug test at least twice a week, keep in contact with his PO, and receive substance abuse counseling. Hopefully he meant what he said. Check out his emotional plea in court below.
