A video posted to twitter showed a man riding BART seemingly trying to start a chainsaw while riding the train! After failing to start the gas ran chainsaw, the man then pulled out the electric chainsaw. He allegedly was saying "Just call me Texas Chain Saw Massacre." Then he said he was the "BART massacre."
BART reported police had received multiple calls about the incident and officers positioned themselves to board the train at Lake Merritt, when the man got off the train.
The man, identified as 47-year-old Patrick Bingman of San Francisco, was taken into custody for having several outstanding arrest warrants and for making threats. He was booked into Alameda County Jail.
According to BART, Bingman admitted to waving the chainsaws around but said he was playing. The chainsaws were stolen, according to police.
According to BART spokeswoman Alicia Trost, the chainsaws were never activated and no one was injured.
