June (aka JuneOnnaBeat) on new music, producing v. rapping & Kanye 2020

Sacramento spitta June, (aka JuneOnnaBeat), sat down The Street Light Series to discuss how he's taken a seat from producing for others and directing his focus towards his own music. June has worked with artists like Mozzy, Iamsu, E-40, Sage the Gemini, J. Stalin and countless others.

June dropped his solo project 'Stressin for a Blessin' earlier this year. The album features several Bay Area artists, including: Lil Yee, D-Lo, Remedy, Show Banga, Sleepy D., and others.

The Street Light crew had a chance to hear two exclusive tracks June has been working on. When asked about features in his latest album, June said "I know who I want, I know who I'm going to get on there." but for the time being he is solidifying the project's structure.

June touches on the music scene in Sacramento and how the community has dealt with the Stephon Clark shooting. The conversation switched gears when the topic of Kanye West and his comments regarding Trump, slavery and mental health were brought up. See June, Shay and Marc's opinion of the rapper's recent viral comments by watching the full interview below:
