Stockton teen arrested after school shooting plans found

After all the school shootings that have happened this year, i am happy to see police take these threats seriously. A 14-year-old student in Stockton was arrested today after allegedly planning a school shooting.

A 14-year-old student was arrested Monday after school officials reported he had written plans for a school shooting, Stockton police said.

Police were called to Venture Academy in the 2800 block of Transworld Drive at 8:40 a.m.

School staff detained the student before officers arrived on campus. The plans detailed how the student was going to commit the shooting, police said.

Officers then searched the student's home and notified his parents. They did not find anything illegal at the home, police said.

“The Stockton Police Department will continue to work closely with our schools to ensure the safety of our students and staff,” Stockton Police Department Public Information Officer Joe Silva said. “We take all threats seriously and will investigate them thoroughly. Those making threats will be held accountable for their actions.”

The student was booked into San Joaquin County Juvenile Hall on a charge of making criminal threats.

Either way, this kid will be able to get the help he needs.
