Grey's Anatomy Tackles Police Brutality And Race Bias.

During tonight's episode of Grey's Anatomy, Shonda Rhimes has figured out how to tackle police brutality, domestic violence, and losing your religion all in under an hour. It's the police biases and brutality that has the show trending on twitter though.

On tonight's episode, a 13 year-old boy was shot by police for climbing through his window after he forgot his keys. He reached for his phone to call his parents and the police shot the child in the neck. Jesse Williams who plays Dr. Avery, was openly disgusted with the police officers actions and called out the officers for shooting a child based on biases of what they deem "threatening."

Adding to that emotional moment, the death of the 13-year-old at police hands led Chandra Wilson who plays Dr. Bailey, to have "the talk" with her own son. Bailey and her husband sat down with their son Tucker to explain how a young black male has to conduct himself when confronted by police or even when playing with his "white friends."

Social media quickly reacted to tonight's episode expressing their frustration with police and emotional heartbreak over the thought of having to have this conversation with children. Many expressed how the show helped open the eyes of "privileged white men" who liked to ignore these privileges or find excuses for police actions.

Leave it to a tv series, to finally open the eyes for people who were previously deaf to these issues.
