It looks like former NBA legend Charles Oakley is currently behind bars after fighting a fan on the sideline at tonight's NY Knicks game.
Former Knicks great Charles Oakley was escorted out of Madison Square Garden by security and subsequently arrested after an altercation in the stands near team owner James Dolan on Wednesday night. It is unclear what initiated the incident, which came in the first quarter against the visiting Clippers.
Oakley appeared to shove security guards before they pulled him away from his seat behind the baseline. Fans chanted "Oakley! Oakley!" in support of the popular power forward. "Charles Oakley came to the game tonight and behaved in a highly inappropriate and completely abusive manner," the Knicks said in a statement. "He has been ejected and is currently being arrested by the New York City Police Department. He was a great Knick and we hope he gets some help soon.
"Knicks president Phil Jackson came out to try to calm down Oakley, who was yelling about Dolan and telling security he wasn't going to move as they handcuffed him outside the tunnel leading to the court.
