An airline mechanic put 150 lives in jeopardy by tampering with an airplane engine before a flight.. and his reason for doing so is ridiculous! Abdul-Majeed Marouf Ahmed Alani was caught on camera placing foam adhesive on the plane engine and air marshals took him into custody immediately. The 60 year old mechanic said that he disabled the navigation system on the plane as an attempt to get overtime hours! Apparently, the mechanics union that Alani is a part of was having some issues with contract negotiations and it was causing financial problems for the mechanic, so he felt getting some overtime hours would help him. Now he's not working at all and is facing federal charges. Congrats, you played yourself!
