A street will probably be named after Too $hort, an influential figure in the Oakland rap scene and self-proclaimed "Godfather of Bay Area hip hop" (a designation that no one dares challenge).
Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf and Councilmember Noel Gallo have proposed changing the name of Foothill Boulevard between High Street and 47th Avenue to "Too $Hort Way."
That region includes his alma mater Fremont High and is where he used to hang out.
