After Phylicia Rashad showed support for Bill Cosby, many called for her to step down from her position at Howard University.
She was recently appointed the Dean of Fine Arts at Howard University.
Howard University released a statement and said, survivors of sexual assault will always be our priority. While Dean Rashad has acknowledged in her follow up tweet that victims must be heard and believed, her initial tweet lacked sensitivity towards survivors of sexual assault.
The concern from people on social media is that students would not feel safe reporting sexual assault to Phylicia Rashad.
