As a kid my family would encourage me to read a ton, and I had a few favorite books.... some began as ones that were being read to me, and others I learned to read on my own.
We'd read Paddington, Curious George, Calvin & Hobbes, & my favorite series 'Clifford the Big Red Dog'.
Clifford is now being made into a film, & even though I'm an adult who doesn't have kids of my own yet, I'll for sure going to be in the theater on day one checking out a story that reminds me a lot of my childhood.
Hopefully this film will get some youngsters & their families locked in with some of the books that I loved, & have long been staples in encouraging early reading.
