Amy Cooper, the woman who became known as 'Central Park Karen' after calling the police during an argument with a black man in Central Park who was out bird watching, is suing her former employer for firing her.

Last May, Cooper went viral after calling police to report an "African American" who was "threatening me and my dog" after the man told her to keep the dog on a leash. Shortly after, Cooper was fired by the investment firm where she worked.

Now, Cooper is suing the firm Franklin Templeton, claiming that they did not fully investigate the situation because of her race and gender.

A company spokesperson defended the decision, saying "We believe the circumstances of the situation speak for themselves".
