A program in a San Quentin, California prison was designed to make sure that upon release, prisoners did not return.
The Last Mile is a rehabilitation program that offers prisoners training on how to code.
The object is to help them get a job when released.
Jason Jones, a software engineer AND a product of the program teaches computer coding to the prisoners through remote communication.
Upon completion of the program and release from the prison, the men will be connected to businesses like Slack, Facebook and Google.
