Walgreens' Chief Medical Officer says the drugstore chain hopes to have vaccines available to the general public by early spring.
Dr. Kevin Ban told MSNBC that Walgreens will start out vaccinating healthcare workers and people in long-term care facilities. After that, he hopes to open it up to the general public by "late March, early April".
Dr. Ban said Walgreens is working closely with government agencies like the CDC and HHS and compared the vaccine process to a 'relay race'.
