Study Shows Black Drivers Pulled Over More Often In CA

A new study claims African-American drivers in California were pulled over more frequently than white or Hispanic motorists.

According to an analysis of state data, black drivers accounted for 15 percent of all traffic stops, despite making up just 6 percent of the state's population - a per capita rate 2.5 times greater than white drivers.

Black drivers were also more likely to be stopped at night and three times more likely to be searched during a traffic stop.

Researchers say the data is evidence of racial profiling by police, also known as "driving while black".
