The City of Oakland has began to clear out one of many homeless encampments in the city. Yesterday, the focus was on the Wood Street homeless encampment where about 100 people currently reside. City officials began removing cars and trash from the site, but of course they were met with some resistance from those who live there. One resident says she hopes the city doesn't just bulldoze them from that location as many have been living there for years, but the city says it will take weeks to clear the area out leaving residents a little time to relocate.
