One of hip hop’s biggest pioneers, Master P, has launched his own pancake and syrup Brand to replace Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben! The product line includes pancake mix, syrup, grits, oatmeal, rice, and beans. Master P will be donating a portion of the profits towards helping Black children and elderly people, as well as developing real estate in Black neighborhoods.
In an interview with CNN, Master P shared,
“When you look at Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben, a lot of those products are mockeries of African-American people and couldn’t even feed our communities. With Uncle P, the more we make, the more we give. And the only way to give is by owning these products.”
